Paul & Mingo
NUMBER NINE 01 (1983)
This "album" like many of the early ones on this list, consists mainly of recordings of FM radio. The only original material on "Entertainment" of any value is the recordings made by my cousin and me in preparation for making prank phone calls...
Paul & Mingo
NUMBER NINE 02 (1983)
This "album" consists mainly of recordings of FM radio. The rest of the material comprises conversation and ambience in a hotel room at the beach and some recordings at the end of sounds at the beach (including much wind noise).
Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 03 (1983)
This "album" consists mainly of dubs of music from prerecorded audio cassettes. A "best of" compilation of original material makes up the rest. Most of that material (none of it really listenable, if even music...) can be found on "albums" later in the catalog...
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 04 (1983)
This album is the first one in the catalog to feature primarily original recordings--mostly spoken word.
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 05 (1983)
The nonsense word "Beful" results when "auti" is removed from the word "Beautiful" as was done on the original cover art created partially from cut-up magazines and catalogs.
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 07 (1983)
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 08 (1983)
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 09 (1984)
This "album" consists mainly of recordings of records and FM radio. It's pretty good though :-) Many of the records are played at faster-than-normal speeds and edited together with other songs, played backwards, etc.
Features:
(in addition to the recordings noted above)
Paul & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 10 (1984)
This is another "album" that consists mainly of recordings of records and FM radio. There is some stuff recorded by my cousin & me that's moderately interesting, though. This tape is the first in the catalog to feature duelling Casio VL-Tone and Concertmate-200 mini keyboards. (The Concertmate-200 was Radio Shack's rip-off of the VL-Tone.)
Paul & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 11 (1983)
This "album" features a mix of FM radio recordings, Casio VL-Tone/Concertmate-200 recordings, and "live action".
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 12 (1983)
This "album" features a mix of recordings of records, dubs from other tapes, Casio music, and "live action". Some dubs here that come from tapes that are not considered albums are an early "cover" of After the Fire's "Der Kommissar" by Colin & Mingo (although here it's "Der Betthase"), and recordings from 1981 of "I'm Yoda" and "Rhonda's Birthday" by my cousin and me.
NUMBER NINE 13 (1983)
There's no original material here. There's probably a whole recording of an old comedy album that demonstrated the miracle of stereo; Cookie Monster forwards and backwards; story records edited, played backwards, fast, etc.; Bobby Vinton songs forwards and backwards; Art Mooney & his Orchestra forwards and backwards... and much much more.
Paul & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 14 (1984)
Back at the beach... a year after recording "Next?!!!" This one's mostly FM radio with some "live action" and TV sound but no "beach ambience" this time.
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 15 (1984)
Tape one of the many long sessions necessary to record "People Talking". Also includes a lot of phony British accents and Mingomusic, Colinmusic and TV, radio and records.
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 15 (1984)
Tape two of the many long sessions necessary to record "People Talking". Also includes rhythms, alternate versions of "Cet n'est pas un auto" and Mingomusic.
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 16 (1984)
More fun with the Casio PT-50. In addition to what's listed below, we hear an interpretation of Kraftwerk's "Autobahn" (just a tiny excerpt!), the "Star Wars" theme demo (either built-in or on a cartridge--I don't recall), old records, radio and "Noise & Laughter".
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 17 (1984)
Fun with the Casio MT-68, leaps and bounds more advanced than previous keyboards we worked with. Side one is a hodgepodge of things on the road to figuring out this new equipment. Side two includes "melodies" and new instrumental versions of previously recorded tracks.
Features:
Colin & Mingo, et al.
NUMBER NINE 18 (1985)
More fun with the Casio MT-68! This is basically more tape devoted to figuring out the new keyboard. In addition to what's below, there's an attempt to perform the keyboard part from "Jump".
Features:
Colin & Mingo
NUMBER NINE 22 (1985)
Features:
and other cover tunes.

NUMBER NINE 25 (1985)
Side one is a trip downtown and back to go to the supermarket. On the way C & M visit a building that is now gone. Side two is a bit of a grab bag, and includes alternate takes of "We Have Mutated" along with what's listed below.
Features:
Twist & Mingo
NUMBER NINE 29 (1985)
This tape represents the first "serious" musical collaborations. Along with the tracks listed below, there are several untitled selections and "quite a lot of futzing around" at the end of side two.
Features:
Download or stream audio from Sciatica for free from the Internet Archive.
Cover art reinterpreted by Mingo in 2008 based on his art.
Twist & Mingo
NUMBER NINE 30 (1985)
Includes a continuation of the untitled track that is repeated on side two of the first "Sciatica" tape, then some covers, more untitled collaborative tracks, then ends with Mingo-only instrumental tracks.
Cover art reinterpreted by Mingo in 2008 based on his original art.

NUMBER NINE 31 (1985)
By the time, we had stopped counting Thurm "segments". Side one is the Halloween show from 1984 and features the Casio PT-50 prominently. Side two is a year later and features some special musical collaborations.
